What's the first thing you do when you get a raise? Buy yourself something pretty right?
It's not uncommon for many of us who see an extra couple of digits in our paycheck to buy all the things we used to window shop for.
The only problem with this is when we spend more with the hard-earned extra cash we tend to break even.
This means we don't pay off debt, we still don't have savings, and we still live paycheck to paycheck.
So what is the solution, frugalness?
Possibly.
But I propose a different way of thinking.
