January 2026: Setting the foundation & being realistic

January was the month of focusing on consistency and creating systems to maintain that flow.
Everyone says consistency is the key to business progress, but after trying and failing numerous times, I've learned that I need certain systems in place to help me stay focused on what matters most.
I've spent years running on wishful thinking. I'll admit I've gotten lucky a few times, and inconsistency has still led me to some results. While inconsistency has brought me a few one-off opportunities, I know that staying focused on one thing will bring me a steady stream of success.
This month, I set concrete goals for myself and created weekly tasks to ensure I was working toward achieving them.
My two main areas of consistency were pitching and email marketing. I sent out around 20 pitches—most were met with no response or a polite “not right now.” I also applied for a few job opportunities and am still waiting to hear back.
I stayed consistent with my weekly email newsletter, helping people manage their finances—especially those planning to move abroad.
I also started blocking off time to complete specific tasks. For instance, the first half of the day is dedicated to client and creative work, while afternoons are reserved for admin and marketing tasks.
On days when life felt overwhelming and time had slipped away, I asked myself: What’s the smallest yet most valuable effort I can make today? Because consistency doesn’t mean running a mile every day—sometimes it means simply getting up and taking small steps forward.
